Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken and Justin were the highlight of the recent TeaM Fair 2023 in Butuan City, though they weren’t referred to as SB19.
It can be noted that during the show on 10 November, SB19 was never mentioned but rather only the members’ individual names. What fueled the speculations more were the messages of Ken and Josh, alluding to a problem being faced by the group.
“Thank you for giving us happiness and our fans, the A’Tin happiness. Good vibes lang. Knowing that you guys are always there for us, kahit pa mahirap ang pinagdaraanan namin ngayon (even though what we are going through right now is difficult). As human beings, hindi naman maiiwasan ‘yung mga ganoong bagay (such things cannot be avoided),” Ken said.
“Alam namin na (we know that) it’s worth it. Kayo ang nagpapasaya sa amin, mga A’tin. Habang buhay magkakasama tayo, habang buhay nandito ang mahalima (You make us happy, A’tin. As long as we are together, as long as mahalima is here),” Josh said.
The boys also had “SB19” removed from their Instagram bio and handle, much to the confusion and concern of fans.
A’Tin @intoszmc said: “Been wanting to say this since last night. If ever na magkaroon sila ng new name, it’s for sure that we, A’tin, will do our best to make it bigger than the old one. But, SB19… it’s not just a name. It holds so much weight. So much. Hindi dapat bibitawan. We will take it back.”
User @luna_tismo, meanwhile, wrote: “it’s more than jz d name. it’s their identity. their humble beginnings. their thriving present. & their bright future. whether u lyk d name sb19 or nt, we both knw d impact it created. ik it’s uncomfy rn but i blieve dt breakdowns happen b4 breakthrus. good karma’s comin 10 fold [sic].”
In June 2023, the boys left its old management ShowBT to build their own 1Z Entertainment. Leader Pablo serves as its chief executive officer.
ShowBT, a Korean company, holds the trademark for the name “SB19” and the copyright of the group’s original songs until 3 January 2031.
Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken and Justin had announced more stops in Asia for the Pagtatag! world tour. The boys will be on 15 November at the Capitol Theater, Singapore; 19 November at the Bank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theater, Bangkok; 24 November, Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai; and 9 December at the Pavilion Tokorozawa Sakura Town, Japan.
