‘Moving,’ ‘Exhuma,’ lead nominations in 60th Baeksang Arts Awards

Moving and Exhuma emerged as lead nominees at the 60th edition of the Baeksang Arts Awards.

South Korea’s prestigious award-giving body, which honors outstanding movies and television shows, announced on 8 April the complete list of nominations.

Park In-je’s Moving, which was successfully released on Disney+, dominated the TV category with eight nominations. These include nods for Best Drama, Best Screenplay and Best Technical Direction.

On the other hand, Jang Jae-hyun’s Exhuma, which had its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in February, garnered eight nominations as well.

Kim Soo-hyun, who is currently headlining the popular Netflix series Queen of Tears alongside Kim Ji Won, clinched the Best Actor nomination in the TV category. He is up against well-regarded actors Yoo Yeon-seok, Im Si-wan, Ryu Seung-ryong and Namgoong Min.

Other star nominees include Song Joong-ki (Hopeless), Lee Byun-hun (Concrete Utopia) and Kim Go-eun (Exhuma).

Ra Mi-ran and Honey Lee are nominated for Best Actress in both TV and film categories: the former for the TV series The Good Bad Mother and the movie Citizen of a Kind, while the latter for Knight Flower and Killing Romance.

The nominees were chosen from films and television series that aired or were released between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024.

The awards ceremony will take place on 7 May at COEX.
