Isko Moreno to MTRCB: Use heart in decision-making

Former Manila mayor and Eat Bulaga host Isko Moreno feels the MTRCB should think about the viewers’ perception in its decision-making and should use heart in dispensing justice.

In a Tiktok interview, Yorme underscored the importance of heart over brain, reacting to the rival noontime show It’s Showtime being meted a 12-day suspension because of the icing-licking incident involving Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.

“I think you should know better, if and if, the chair or head of such agency ay galing mismo sa showbiz industry because you know better than anybody else na maraming umaasa sa likod ng camera” (a lot of people behind the camera depend on the show), said Yorme.

Hindi lang dapat puro utak, kailangan nilalagyan mo rin ng puso (It shouldn’t be all mind, heart should also matter). And that’s what you call public service. You serve the public, you protect the greatest number, and at the same time, you show empathy, care, understanding and compassion. That’s how the government should be functioning,” he added.

In another interview, Gawad Tanglaw chairman and Manuel L. Quezon University dean Dr. Jaime Ang said he saw nothing wrong with the icing incident between Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, and the viewers have had different interpretations about it. He and his organization Gawad Tanglaw also acknowledged how the show continues to bring entertainment to the madlang people.

As of now, It’s Showtime has been serving its 12-day suspension and the madlang people have been missing the whole family of the hit noontime show. A viral post of a Tiktok user shows his brother, a special child, crying because he isn’t seeing It’s Showtime on their TV.

Well, let’s see how “It’s Showtime” will bounce back on 27 October after this challenging situation. In the meantime, viewers can enjoy the Philippines’ newest game variety show It’s Your Lucky Day.

FranSeth movie next year

The Kapamilya love team of Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin is poised for bigger stardom as a movie with them as headliners is being conceptualized and will be shown next year.

FranSeth, as the popular love team is called, will certainly be on pins and needles as they are the first love team to be launched officially in a movie next year.

Francine and Seth first worked together via Kadenang Ginto. They were members of ABS-CBN’s Gold Squad which also has as members Andrea Brillantes and Kyle Echarri.

Then, it was followed by Dirty Linen, a star-studded heavy drama starring Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, John Arcilla, Epy Quizon, Tessie Tomas, Angel Aquino, Joel Torre, Christian Bables, Jennica Garcia and Janice de Belen.

Coming right on its heels is the teen adventure-thriller Fractured which stars Jeremiah Lisbo, Kaori Oinuma, Daniela Stranner, Raven Rigor and Sean Tristan.

Currently, Seth and Francine are flexing their hosting muscles as they join Luis Manzano, Melai Cantiveros, Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Jennica Garcia, comedians Long Mejia, Petite, Negi and Divine Tetay in the temporary noontime show It’s Your Lucky Day, which replaced It’s Showtime after it was meted a 12-day suspension on air.

“I’m very happy kasi pinili nila ako, kami nila Seth na mapasali sa ‘Lucky Day’. We’re very lucky, I feel very grateful kasi sa dinami-dami ng artista sa ABS-CBN, kami yung napili,”  said Francine in one interview.

Mismatched voice

Singer Jona strongly denied that she was the seemingly off voice in a song number in a recent episode of ASAP Natin ‘To.

A short video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) showed some singers singing Regine Velasquez’s song “Dadalhin.”

It was easily discernible that one of the singers sang the song in a manner different from the others, sounding like a falsetto.

JONA

One fan mustered enough guts to ask Jona, tagging her directly: “Is this you, Mayora @MsJ0NA? Who is the one with the mismatched voice in the song? Is it Lara? Sheena? Jed?”

A fan commented that it was indeed Jona: “Halatang si jona mi kasi bago sya iwan ng camera kinanta pa nya ang dadalhin tapos makikita parin na hanggang ‘palasyo’ bumubuka parin bibig nya kahit malayo na ang camera. Kaloka! Nagkalat si madame jona nyo (It’s obvious that it was Jona because before the camera panned out she was still singing ‘Dadalhin’ and until [the lyric] ‘palace’ her mouth was still moving even though the camera was already far. Crazy, your madame Jona made a scene).”

Immediately addressing the issue, Jona shot back: “Bhe, hindi ko boses yun” (That’s not my voice).

So, if it wasn’t hers, whose voice was that?
