It’s easy to get excited about this rich and buttery silvanas (aka frozen sans rival cookies) that has extra silky buttercream, liberally studded with nuts that give the confection a sweetish, nutty flavor.
These fat and chunky frozen sans rival cookies are decadently made with 100-percent real, pure butter and freshly roasted nuts, such as macadamia, pistachio and cashew.
Kris Alcantara Mendoza of Cipriano has been selling sans rival cake since 2016.
“In 2020, we wanted to make a special sans rival for the holidays made with different kinds of nuts,” says Mendoza. “So, my hubby and I came up with our Triple Nut Sans Rival with tons of macadamias, pistachios and cashews. It’s really for nut lovers like us.”
Mendoza thought of coming out with a cookie version of sans rival when a neighbor curiously asked for it.
“One of our regular customers of sans rival asked us to create a cookie version to give away for her husband’s 50th birthday,” she shares. “We were already making Butter Silvanas at this point so she knew we could make this Triple Nut version.”
She adds: “She sent it out to about 30 people and reorders started coming in… And the rest is history!”
Later on, there was a clamor for a sugar-free version of her desserts which she tried making in 2022.
“The sugar-free version took off quickly,” she says. “There are really a lot of dessert-seekers in that market looking for low-carb options.”
Aside from silvanas or frozen sans rival cookies, another of Cipriano’s bestselling dessert is the classic Chocolate Cake that features a rich and intense chocolate that seeps through in every bite. The two-layer velvety moist cake is covered in thick dark milk ganache that’s not cloyingly sweet.
Cipriano’s silvanas are available in boxes of eight — Butter (P425), Triple Nut (P795) and Half and Half (butter and triple nut, P625). For the chocolate cake, available are six-inch (P650) and nine-inch (P1,100). Sugar-free versions are also available.
