Festive spirit has ‘never been more alive’ at BGC

Our streets, malls and parks are full of energy. The festive spirit has never been more alive,” said Bonifacio Global City Estate’s executive director June Galvez at the recent unveiling of the its giant Christmas tree.

At the district’s 7th Avenue on Wednesday, 8 November, the tree-lighting marked a fresh chapter for Taguig’s business and lifestyle district.

BGC-goers, also called BGCitizens, can expect a brighter and unforgettable Christmas celebration, as Galvez noted that 2023 has been a fresh start and a time of moving upward for BGC, following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Galvez shared that he was feeling nostalgic and proud that the city has not only remained untouched by the storms of the past seasons but more remarkably, “it has emerged better, brighter and more vibrant than ever.”

He said, “It is a continuation of our story as the leading central business district. As we unveil this Christmas village, I can’t help but be reminded of this humbling lesson:’ It takes a village to become a thriving BGC because beyond the fancy infrastructure and the glowing light, the spirit of community that truly matters.”

He added that “it takes partners and like-minded BGC locators from small business to multinational investors — the country’s movers — to continue to create the future with us.”

Galvez acknowledged the BGCitizen’s strong love for the city. He also expressed gratitude to those people behind the maintenance that keeps the district safer and open running.

After BGC’s official launching of the start of holiday festivities, people can now expect a weekly fireworks display dubbed Sparks in the Sky; Santa Meet and Greet; and daily Simbang Gabi services at Bonifacio South Street from 15 to 24 December.

The BGC’s High Street Express Train will likewise start roaming at the square.
