BLACKPINK’s Jennie drops first solo track in 5 years

BLINKs have adored Jennie as a global ambassador of multiple luxurious brands, or as an actress in the television series “The Idol,” fans have eagerly expressed their desire to see and hear more from Jennie as a soloist.

Best known for being a member of the globally acclaimed South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, Jennie is sure to thrill such fans with the release of her solo song “You and Me”.

“We decided to officially release it for the fans who accompanied them on the Born Pink world tour. We hope it will be a special gift that will bring back the emotion of that time,” her group’s management company YG Entertainment said.

The agency accompanied its statement with a striking visual of the global K-pop sensation standing in front of the moon in a red ruffled dress.

The 27-year old singer had performed the all-English solo song during BLACKPINK’s massive Born Pink world tour.

“You and Me” marks Jennie’s return to solo music in five years. In 2018, she debuted as a soloist with the chart-topping single “Solo,” making her the first K-Pop female soloist to achieve the career milestone of 500 million streams on Spotify. She was also the first member of BLACKPINK, which concluded its successful world tour on 17 September, to release solo material.
