Annette Gozon-Valdes bares plans for Alden, Barbie, other GMA Sparkle artists

Annette Gozon-Valdes, GMA Network’s senior vice president for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide and Support Group as well as the president and chief executive officer of GMA Films, appeared as a guest in a recent episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

Before her upcoming role as one of the judges in GMA’s talent competition Battle of the Judges, Gozon-Valdes sat down with Abunda, who will be joining her on the show, and talked about her goals for Sparkle artists like Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Julie Anne San Jose, Miguel Tanfelix and Ruru Madrid.

Gozon-Valdes is one of the people behind Sparkle, the talent division of the GMA Network. She is regarded as one of the most skilled executives in the entertainment sector.

About Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards, Gozon-Valdes said: “Si Alden, aside from maintaining what he has… he has a lot of business ventures, so parang nabubuo niya talaga ‘yung pagkatao niya in the showbiz industry.”

Barbie Forteza, on the other hand — “she’ll be starring in some movies aside from starring in the biggest shows of GMA… Because of Maria Clara at Ibarra, nagkaroon pa siya ng additional breakthrough in her career, pataas pa ‘yan ng pataas.

Regarding Julie Anne San Jose, the Kapuso executive said, “With Julie Anne, she’s a multimedia actress. She’s really a singer first and foremost pero nakita natin ‘yung galing niya sa Maria Clara at Ibarra. So, ang laki rin ng potential niya sa acting. She’s the total package.”

Ruru Madrid, meanwhile, is the “real action star of GMA,” said Gozon-Valdes, with projects for the next two years already lined up for him. GMA Films and other production companies are also working on movies featuring Madrid.

And Miguel Tanfelix? “He’s a very very good actor. Nakita natin sa Voltes V: Legacy na kaya rin niyang mag-action. He also has an upcoming movie.”

Gozon-Valdes ended her interview with a simple wish for the Sparkle stars: “Sana lahat sila maging successful at maging fulfilled as persons.”
