Why Kathryn Bernardo is grateful to her ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ family

In anticipation of her forthcoming endeavor, Kathryn Bernardo is soaking up the limelight at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

The Kapamilya actress expressed her gratitude to the hard-working cast and crew of the popular drama series 2 Good 2 Be True, as well as to her devoted fans.

Last July, the glittering 18th edition of the Seoul Drama International Awards named Bernardo as the “Outstanding Asian Star.”

Bernardo showed her sincere appreciation during a press conference that ABS-CBN covered, saying, “Hindi naman siya mangyayari if not for the fans, my 2 Good 2 Be True family, kami nina Gillian Vicencio, direk Mae
Cruz-Alviar, Daniel Padilla and everybody.”

Bernardo will represent the Philippines at the next awards ceremony on 21 September, which will be televised live on Korea’s KBS2TV.

Ma-nominate pa lang doon, sabi ko okay na ‘yon. Hindi ko naman
in-
expect na lilipad tayo roon to receive an award. What a way to end this movie, mayroon pang mga remnants ng mga pinanggalingan na TV series, nakakatuwa,” she said.

Bernardo emphasized that her achievement is not solely hers. “Me receiving that award, it’s not just for me. ‘Yung Outstanding Actress for TV Series, it’s for the whole team ng 2 Good 2 Be True na na-recognized tayo, hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas but also in Asia. Nakaka-proud na pumunta tayo roon sa Korea representing ABS-CBN and the whole team ng 2 Good 2 Be True.”

The same honor was given to Belle Mariano, a fellow member of Star Magic, in 2022 as an “Outstanding Asian Star” at the SDA.

In South Korea, Mariano personally accepted the award. She gave a moving address to the South Korean audience.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea, and other organizations support the Seoul International Drama Awards. The leading international drama festival in South Korea, SDA was founded in 2006 and focuses on current trends in world theater.

Bernardo is poised for an eventful year, with three exciting movies in the pipeline: A Very Good Girl alongside Dolly de Leon, directed by Petersen Vargas; Elena 1944, helmed by Olivia Lamasan; and a yet-to-be-titled film with her long-time boyfriend, Daniel Padilla, under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.
