Uptown Bonifacio’s ‘Festive Filipino Christmas’ shines spotlight on indigenous Filipino weavers

Uptown Bonifacio welcomed the holiday season with a grand Christmas festivity dedicated to celebrating and highlighting Filipino textiles and the local art of of weaving.

“Festive Filipino Christmas,” launched in partnership with CulturAid, a non-proft organization working for the empowerment and cultural preservation of Indigenous communities, showcases the rich tapestry of handcrafted creations by weavers and artisans coming from various communities all over the Philippines.

“We hope you’ll find inspiration in a deeper appreciation of our tich Heritage and cultural diversity,” said Camille Elvina, Uptown Bonifacio general manager.

The event was graced by the First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

The centerpiece of the holiday celebration is the 40-feet Christmas tree towering over the Uptown Mall Atrium and adorned with more than a thousand ornaments made of local woven materials.
