TPSA upskills army battalion

SAN JOSE, Tarlac — The Philippine Army’s 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion and the Technical Point Skills Academy have signed a memorandum of partnership agreement for the upskilling of soldiers through TPSA’s Mobile Training Program.

Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Jeszer M. Bautista and TPSA president Manolo C. Toledano signed the MOPA at the 3rd Mech Battalion Headquarters in Sitio Pugo, Barangay Burgos on 13 February.
According to Bautista, the agreement is in line with the unit’s commitment to developing and creating transformative learning experiences and opportunities for soldiers.
He said the 35-day MLP covers different topics and hands-on activities on Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Electrical Installation and Maintenance.

Toledano said that safety and protection procedures of the trainees during the conduct of training is top priority.

The commander expressed his gratitude to the TPSA for choosing their unit as a beneficiary of the free training, saying it is a great opportunity for the soldiers of the Philippine Army.

He added that the said training are a big help for soldiers in active duty since these skills will certainly come in handy not just during their time in service, but also during their retirement.

Major General Andrew D. Costelo, commander of the PA’s 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, lauded and thanked the unit’s efforts in enhancing the skills of their troops as it is necessary for attaining their organizational objectives.

“Hopefully, magtuloy-tuloy itong programa ng TPSA at marami pang battalion ang inyong maging ka-partner sa layuning makapagdagdag ng kaalaman para sa ating mga kasundaluhan. The need to enhance their skills is timely and necessary. Again, thank you for your continued partnership with the Army,” Costelo said.
