‘Social Shepherd’ Jorge Hizon turns 75

Platinum milestone celebrator Jorge Hizon.

Without a doubt the most prominent and visible La Sallite in the current social scene, social shepherd Jorge Hizon recently gathered his flock of distinguished ladies and gentlemen, achievers, top entrepeneurs, new names and old family members, in an evening of merrymaking to share his blessings as he turned 75, a most important milestone in a man’s life.

Some 200 guests, bedecked in their finery, enjoyed the night as they danced to the scintillating music of the Marcy David Orchestra.

To be sure, being used to high Kapampangan culinary fare, Jorge made sure his guests enjoyed the sumptuous international buffet  prepared by chef Noel Hizon. The epicurean bestsellers included overflowing tempura, succulent lechon and tender roast beef, with assorted  desserts capping the feast.

An audio-visual presentation that depicted Jorge’s extraordinary life journey was much applauded, as it recalled his happy childhood to his adventurous teenage years, educational achievements and his flourishing professional career and as an entrepreneur.

Guests were treated to glimpses of Jorge’s marriage with Frieda Ocampo and his dedication to raising three successful sons Carlo, Dindo and chef Noel, as well as his vibrant retirement years filled with social engagements.  At the age of 73, he became president and editor-in-chief of Profiles Asia.

In a heartwarming gesture, Jorge invited all 20 March birthday celebrators to join him in blowing his birthday cake candles, symbolizing shared joy and cherished friendship, uniting everyone in festivity.

An impromptu mini-concert wowed the guests as they enjoyed the performances of classical singer Jack Salud; first Filipino finalist of Britain’s Got Talent 2008 and multi-medalist of WCOPA 2017 Madonna Decena; Jukebox King of the ‘70s Darius Razon; The Clash; Indonesia’s Dangdut finalist and WCOPA multi-medalist Renz Fernando; and EMGA/Past District Governor of Rotary International Raffy Garcia.

Throughout the evening, seasoned hosts Francis Bonnevie Dionisio and Raymond Gorospe charmed guests with their good looks, eloquence and charisma.
