After his first single’s successful release in early January, SB19’s Pablo recently dropped his second single, “Akala,” with his brother and collaborator Josue of Radkidz.
The song, which dropped on 30 January in major streaming platforms, once again features Pablo’s signature lyrical wordplay wrapped in what he describes as “a more laidback, dreamy” sound.
“Everything that I have released so far features intense and heavy instrumentation, but ‘Akala’ follows a completely different direction this time around. It has a more laidback, dreamy vibe to it,” Pablo said in a press release.
“Akala” is a wordplay on “alak” (alcohol), which is the song’s main theme. The track touches on how drinking and being wasted might be a form of escape, but is ultimately not the answer to one’s problems.
Before “Akala,” there was the single “DETERMINADO,” which has now garnered over 700,000 streams on Spotify. Pablo collaborated with his brother Josue on both tracks.
Pablo, 29, dropped his solo debut single, “La Luna,” in 2022. He is the leader and main rapper of the P-pop mega-group SB19, and the songwriter behind the band’s biggest hits such as “Gento,” “Mapa,” “Bazinga” and more.
