While top 10 Miss Universe finalist Michelle Dee’s version of a national costume—it’s a plane— birthed a lot of memes and jokes, it was probably the notoriety and the mixed reviews that landed (aherm) the win because you won’t beat the Pinoy “pride” when it comes to internet voting.

The national costume part of the pageant is something that’s generally understood to be the part where the contestant and her team get to be fun and campy, anyway.
