Mall’s 35-foot Christmas tree illuminates the season with joy and radiance

The New Gateway Mall 2 recently lit up its 35-foot silver Christmas tree at the Quantum Skyview, which signals the start of Araneta City’s latest mall’s holiday celebration.

The Christmas tree features 520 Christmas balls, 200 LED lights, 58 Sputnik light bulbs and 1,500 pine garlands.

Zephanie Dimaranan, Roselle Nava and son Rafa Tan (from The Voice Kids), Quezon City Performing Arts and Madison Events performers joined the ceremonial tree lighting celebration.

Miss International 2023 third runner-up Nicole Borromeo, the Binibining Pilipinas 2023 queens, the It’s Showtime kids and Araneta City executives also graced the occasion.

The event at the New Gateway Mall 2 marked the culmination of Araneta City’s series of Christmas tree lighting ceremonies.

The City of Firsts lit its iconic giant Christmas tree, adorned this year with red-gold accents and a carousel to signify the revival of Fiesta Carnival, in a star-studded festivity on 10 November.

During the program, Araneta City gave the audience a teaser of its upcoming holiday offerings, such as the start of its annual Christmas car raffle promo and the much-awaited reopening of the classic Fiesta Carnival in December.

“Through the years, Christmas celebration has been synonymous with holiday attractions in Araneta City,” said Lorna Fabian, Araneta City’s vice president for leasing.

“That’s why we adopted this year the theme ‘City of Firsts: Your Home this Christmas.’ This tall, beautiful Christmas tree here is among our newest holiday offerings to the public. So please do tell your family and friends to check out this amazing display as they visit the New Gateway Mall 2.”
