Former TV host-actress Kris Aquino announced her split up with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste in her latest social media post, saying that their long-distance relationship won’t work out long due to her deteriorating health condition.

“I asked Marc for a pause because with my condition the way it is now, i’m self aware enough to know that a long distance relationship will be next to impossible for us to maintain,” she wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram.

Kris expressed his gratitude to her erstwhile boyfriend who stayed by her side while she was undergoing treatment for her autoimmune diseases in the United States.

“Nobody i’ve ever been in a relationship with has ever given me as much love & encouragement. He wasn’t only my boyfriend, he became my best friend and confidante, talagang maaasahan,” she said.

According to Kris, her condition has “gotten progressively worse”. She mentioned her connective tissue disease and Churg-Strauss syndrome, a disorder marked by blood vessel inflammation; the progression of her CREST syndrome, a multisystem connective tissue disorder; and the start of both her rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

“(T)here’s excruciating pain especially on my entire left leg, and my right knee, swelling in my lower back, and purplish blue toenails,” she lamented, adding the pain is so bad that she can hardly walk.

Mark revealed his relationship with Kris just last month. He endured traveling 13 hours to and fro the US every time he wanted to visit her girlfriend.

“We may not have had our “happily ever after” but being sick has really taught me to look at the glass half full- thank you for giving me the chance to again experience the magic of Once Upon a Time,” Kris concluded her post with matching yellow heart emoji, which symbolizes platonic love.
