KimXi is no more. In a way, Kim Chiu is only confirming what many people have already speculated on for weeks, especially when Xian Lim erased all their travel videos on his official YouTube page. Even prior, Kim Chiu has been the subject of much teasing by her co-hosts on noontime show “It’s Showtime” regarding her love life, or the uncertainty of it.
This officially closes the book on the mega-loveteams that dominated post mid-aughts, Jadine, KimXi, and the mother of all ships, Kathniel.
Just like Kathryn Bernardo, Kim Chiu made the official announcement on her Instagram, which carries her moniker, @chinitaprincess.
“End of a love story.
It took me a while to say this until today.
We owe our supporters the truth, but we also respect each other’s time of healing. In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough.
We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship. We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives. To all our supporters, maraming salamat for all the love and understanding.
Lastly, to Xi, Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is.
As we close this chapter of our lives, I ask for everyone’s kindness and respect. I hope this clears everything as we all move forward with our lives.”
Xian Lim posted his own Instagram message weeks before, something about staying true to his art, although nobody could make heads or tails if it was a breakup announcement, or if he and Kim were still together. While you could say this was one of the worst-kept breakup secrets, at least Kim’s message is clear.
