Heart, Chiz reveal losing baby before renewal of vows

Heart Evangelista revealed losing what could’ve been her and her husband Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero’s first baby just before renewing their marriage vows in an intimate ceremony held last February.

She had named the baby Sophia Heart, said the multimedia actress, visual artist and global fashionista on GMA 7’s Fast Talk with Boy Abunda aired Friday, 15 March.

The couple candidly answered questions asked by TV host Boy Abunda regarding their personal life and finances, as well as Evangelista’s attendance in top fashion events.

Afterward, she revealed they were expecting to have a baby together, recalling, “I wasn’t pregnant, but I was expecting the only girl that I had left — eggs. At that time, I thought I was going to make it.”

“But she didn’t, so that one was a bit hard for me,” she said, turning emotional, adding that she and her husband of nine years were really preparing for their unborn child. “I kind of felt that with everything that we went through, it was finally gonna happen, but it didn’t.”

Despite what had happened, the actress affirmed she’s not the kind of person to “question anything” that happens in her life.

“It’s just sad because I thought I was gonna able to share what I do with my last girl. It’s a little hard, but I’m not questioning anything,” she said, while also mentioning she has difficulty producing eggs.

“I’m blessed in so many ways. How can I complain?” she stated. “I’m not complaining. I’m not the type to complain,”

Abunda then asked Escudero’s thoughts, to which the politician replied that he was “predisposed to always accept God’s will.”

“If it’s not now, if it’s not this, may mas maganda pang naka-plano. Hihintayin lang namin ’yon (There’s something better planned. We’ll just wait for that),” Escudero said.

0n 15 February 2015, Escudero and Evangelista tied the knot after two years of being in a romantic relationship. Nine years later, they renewed their vows on the same date at the same place, which is Balesin Island located off the eastern coast in Luzon.

In 2018, the actress revealed she was pregnant with twins, but she lost them both to a miscarriage.

She said then in an Instagram post, “I don’t question God about this sad time, I trust in His timing and plan. I hope you all understand that I’ll be taking some time off but your support and kind words will be felt, even if I’m not able to reply.”
