Girls Generation’s Yuri met her Filipino fans (called SONEs) for the first time during her solo fan meet “YURI 2nd FANMEETING — CHAPTER 2” at the New Frontier Theatre on 9 July.

The popular singer-actress performed her top hits “Gee,” “Into You” and “1,2 step” and participated in exciting games with a Pinoy twist, making fans squeal and cheer for her throughout the night.

In June, Yuri announced she would hold her Asia fan meeting tour, kickstarting the tour in South Korea on 1 July.

After her stop in Manila, the singer performed in Thailand on 9 July, with another show set for 22 July. She will be in Taiwan next on 6 August.

Debuting in 2007, Yuri has also ventured into multiple acting projects and variety shows. She is known for the well-loved K-dramas Dae Jang Geum is Watching (2018), Bossam: Steal the Fate (2021) and Good Job (2022). In June, she reprised her role in the second season of the survival-themed TV program The Zone: Survival Mission alongside Yoo Jae-suk and Lee Kwang-soo.
