Filipino stars, shows among 28th Asian TV Awards nominees

Filipino artists and productions are once again in major contention in this year’s edition of the Asian Television Awards.

Iza Calzado and Jake Cuenca, who starred in the Viu Original Series K-Love, received acting nods for Best Leading Female Performance-Digital and Best Leading Male Performance-Digital, respectively.

Meanwhile, Maja Salvador and Melai Cantiveros were cited for their hosting skills in their respective game shows, Emojination and UR Da Boss.

Filipino-American drag queen and television host Manila Luzon was nominated for Best Entertainment Presenter or Host in the first season of Drag Den Philippines. The show also secured a nomination for Best Reality Show.

The awards ceremony will occur on 12 and 13 January in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
