Elevating hotel buffet dining experience

One of the perks of checking in a hotel, even for just an overnight stay, is the complimentary breakfast buffet and, in some cases, lunch or dinner as well. That’s why it has become a criterion for many travelers when choosing among hotel accommodations. Guests are usually presented with a wide array of food items to hopefully satisfy all their cravings and preferences.

Executive Chef Kristine Oro leads an all-Filipino kitchen staff.

Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila elevates the buffet dining experience, through its in-house restaurant Cyan Modern Kitchen, by offering well-thought-out selections that will not only fill the stomach but also nourish and sustain the diners’ well-being.

Cold Station.

Here’s how: For breakfast, the first on the list is the salad bar because starting a meal with fiber-rich food works best for good health. You can get some leafy greens and other veggies, with a bit of cold cuts, bacon bits and cheese shavings. Then drizzle your salad with your choice of dressing, such as balsamic vinaigrette, citrus vinaigrette, ranch and Thousand Island. You can also pick up one of the small serving bowls of cold soba to get your tummy ready for carbs.

Pastries

Now that your appetite is all worked up, you can move on to heavier fare, such as congee, noodle soups and rice meals in tandem with meat, poultry and/or pescatarian dishes. You can also choose how you want your eggs to be cooked, while selecting your bread. You may get distracted, though, by the pastries and rice cakes. Yes, there’s suman here for lovers of kakanin (native sweet delicacies).

Waffles and French toast, Hong Kong style.

Make sure not to miss the waffles and French toast, Hong Kong style, which are made from scratch and served hot off the griddle. The ube (purple yam) French toast is an inspired creation made by Cyan Modern Kitchen’s staff led by executive chef Kristine Oro that will make you want to visit Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila just to have breakfast.

Salad bar.

Likewise, a welcome surprise is the juice bar, where you can have your fill of soy protein blended with frozen spinach and/or strawberries and fortified with spirulina and/or turmeric ginger. If you prefer a hot drink using turmeric ginger, you can have its tea preparation. Another hot drink option is tablea hot chocolate, aside from the regular coffee and tea selections.

Make-your-own salad.

Cyan Modern Kitchen, which is found on the third floor of Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila, also offers buffet lunch and dinner, as well as a la carte dining. It is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. for both hotel guests and walk-in clients. Call +632-7777-0000 for details and reservations.
