Carla Abellana renews contract with GMA Network

Homegrown Kapuso artist and accomplished actress Carla Abellana renewed her contract with GMA Network on 29 January.

The event was attended by GMA Network chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon; president and chief executive officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr.; executive vice president and chief financial officer Felipe S. Yalong; senior vice president for programming, talent management, worldwide and support group, and president of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes; and senior vice president for entertainment group Lilybeth G. Rasonable.

Representing Triple A Management were its executives, Michael B. Tuviera, Jojo C. Oconer and Jacqui L. Cara.

Also present were GMA Network’s consultant for business development department III Darling de Jesus-Bodegon, vice president for business development department I Cheryl Ching-Sy, vice president for business development department III Gigi Santiago-Lara, assistant vice president for drama Helen Rose S. Sese and assistant vice president for  corporate communications Jojo Aquio.

Abellana said she had been waiting for this moment and feels extremely grateful to her home network.

“This is a very special day for me. Nakakataba ng puso. Ako ang dapat magpasalamat sa trust ninyong lahat and I will take good care of it. I will continue to grow and do my best sa pagiging artista at Kapuso. Ito na ‘yung araw na pinagdasal at hinintay ko. Aalagaan kong mabuti ang opportunity at bagong chapter na ito,” she said.

Gozon highlighted the secret to Abellana’s successful career: “Si Carla ay isa sa pinakamagaling, maganda at popular na artista ngayon kaya kami ay nagagalak na pinili niyang mag-renew sa kanyang home network. Sigurado akong malayo pa ang mararating niya sa showbiz.”

Duavit also had nothing but good words for Abellana: “It’s a source of great happiness and pride when we see homegrown talents evolve, and Carla is one of the finest examples of that. She is doing very well. Mahusay, napakabait at napakagaan niyang katrabaho.”

Abellana currently stars in the high-rating GMA Afternoon Prime drama Stolen Life. This year, she is also set to star in the upcoming murder mystery series Widows’ War.
