Billy Crawford reconciles with Vice on ‘It’s Showtime’: ‘I’m sorry’

In a heartfelt and instantly iconic moment on noontime TV, Billy Crawford, along with his wife Coleen Garcia and their son Amari, made a surprise appearance in the Magpasikat 2023 segment of ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime, publicly reconciling with main host Vice Ganda.

The emotionally charged episode was dedicated to the theme of “Dreams and Healing.” Crawford and Vice, former close friends and co-hosts on the show, saw their friendship affected when Crawford bolted ABS-CBN and joined a rival noontime program.

But it was time for a reconciliation, said Vice. “Sa panahon ngayon marami ang dapat i-verbalize (Nowadays there is a lot to verbalize),” and Crawford’s surprise guesting was a way to “heal wounds.”

Vice disclosed that he had recently reconciled with Crawford and Garcia, but the guest appearance on It’s Showtime was a last-minute decision: “Thank you, Billy and Coleen kasi biglaan ‘to. Kagabi ko lang sila tinawagan. Nagte-text kami ni Billy these past few days pero hindi namin ‘to napag-usapan (Thank you, Billy and Coleen because this was a sudden thing. I just called them last night. Billy and I have been texting these past few days but we didn’t talk about this).”

Crawford, visibly emotional, returned the affection, saying, “Thank you, Vice. Happy anniversary, first of all, to us. Marami akong realization these past months. Kababalik ko lang galing States, kakakita ko lang sa daddy ko. Hindi ko alam kung hanggang kailan ang daddy ko sa mundong ito, pero ang bilin niya sa akin ay mag-ayos tayo (Thank you, Vice. Happy anniversary, first of all, to us. I’ve had many realizations in the past few months. I just returned from the States and saw my father. I don’t know how much longer he’ll be in this world, but he asked me to make amends with you).”

He continued, “Nahanap ko ang aking asawa at nabuo ang aking pamilya dahil sa programa na ito (I found my wife and built my family because of this show).”

Kaya on my end, I want to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry, madlang people. I’m sorry, Kapamilya. Magpapakumbaba na po ako. Gagawin ko kasi ang lahat para sa aking pamilya (So on my end, I want to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry, madlang people. I’m sorry, Kapamilya. I will humble myself. I will do everything for my family).”

Vice concluded with, “At the end of the day, you are my best friend, and I love you very much. Regalo natin ito sa madlang people (This is our gift to our audience).”
