A THANKSGIVING NIGHT FOR PAL MILLION MILERS

Thanks to the Philippine Airlines’ workaholic and dedicated lady of style, beauty and achievement Cielo Villaluna, Proust Redux received an invitation to the PAL Miler’s Night recently held at Marriot Hotel Manila.

It was a most memorable evening attended by the movers and shakers of the national flag carrier. The charming and good-looking PAL president and chief operating officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng, in his address to the airline’s million milers under the highest frequent flyer loyalty program, said, “Your million miles not only represent your journeys but also the trust you’ve placed in us. We assure you that we will do our best to live up to your trust in the days and years ahead.”

The energetic and youthful PAL Holdings president Lucio Tan III noted how PAL’s million milers have been instrumental in enhancing the airline’s offerings. He said, “We treasure the fellowship we have shared together as you traveled with us over the years. You helped Philippine Airlines grow and your feedback has helped us introduce improvements to our products and services.”

Cielo, who honored us with her company in our table, shared, “PAL has a total of 441 million milers and is expected to welcome 10 more members to the million-miler roster this year.”

Furthermore, she explained to our group, “Our Appreciation Night is our way of recognizing the incredible achievement of our million milers. Through this dinner, we are thanking them for their dedication and loyalty.”

A much-appreciated highlight of the milestone affair was the unveiling of three initiatives, namely: the Self-Service Redemption, Miles as form of payment and Miles E-card. An innovation previewed before the well-dressed crowd was the Mabuhay Miles Shop platform where members can earn miles while shopping online with over 200 participating merchants.

PAL’s top clients, while watching an audio-visual presentation showing the latest developments in the company’s efforts to please and serve them, were awed by the announcement of the biggest ever Mabuhay Lounge at NAIA Terminal 1, which spans over 1,200 sqm of comfort and luxury. Here, the million milers will get to enjoy an exclusive area reserved for them. The new lounge will have a 270-seating capacity featuring an open bar, a quiet room and a massage room.

Finally eliciting thunderous applause from the dazzled guests were a modern Filipiniana-themed fashion show featuring PAL cabin crew uniforms through the decades and a musical serenade from the pop ballad group The Company.
