A taste of Christmas

We’re in the thick of the Christmas season, and it’s time to decide what gifts to give family, loved ones and friends. If you haven’t found what you are looking for, here are some of what is available in the market.

FILIPINO DELI

Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou’s newly opened Tindeli Filipino Deli and Café has the following holiday offerings: chicken galantina (deboned chicken stuffed with ground chicken, chorizo, smoked jamon, pimientos, bell pepper and olives) at P1,450; Ensaimada Grande (eight-inch Filipino style brioche generously slathered with premium butter, grated quezo de bola, sliced jamon, topped with salted egg) at P680; Ube Ensaimada Grande at P720; hardinera (Filipino meatloaf with chunky cuts of meat, cheese, sausage, pineapple chunks and raisins) at P365; and fruitcake (rich, dense cake with walnuts, and premium dried and candied fruits aged in dark rum) at P590. Order online via Facebook (TindeliPH) or Instagram (tindli.ph), call 0956-6605913, or visit Tindeli at Gateway Mall 2.

PISTACHIO AND CHOCOLATE

This powerhouse flavor combination on the palate dominates Kumori’s Christmas 2023 collection, which consists of these items: Pistachio Holiday Dream (pure holiday decadence in layers of velvety pistachio mousse and chocolate sponge cake, topped with premium pistachio crumbles or with Christmas decor) at P685; Choco Pistachio Ring (soft and fluffy Japanese bread dipped in premium dark chocolate and sprinkled with chopped pistachio) at P55 per piece; and Mochi Puffs (traditional Japanese rice cakes with a modern puffy twist, handcrafted and infused with decadent custard cream, available in vanilla and pistachio) at P375 per box of six. Kumori also offers a package that combines all three Christmas flavors in Holly Jolly Bundle (one Pistachio Holiday Dream Cake, two Choco Pistachio Rings and four Mochi Puffs) at P999.

CLASSICS

Every Christmas, chef Jackie Ang Po’s Fleur de Lys Patisserie makes several sweet treats available. She often chooses classics or cookies and bars that she is sure everyone will like, including her best-sellers, such as Volcano Crinkles, Butter Walnut Cookies, Chocolate Florentines, French Brownies (which are incredibly moist but not underbaked), Sesame Waffle Cookies and, for the Christmas season only, Food for the Gods. She also has big and small cakes, savory pies, as well as single meals and party trays. Fleur de Lys is located on Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City.
