As early as 2014, Daniel Padilla’s love for Kathryn Bernardo had already gone kaput, as he planned to pursue his co-star in Bonifacio Ang Unang Pangulo, Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
This was disclosed to us by an unimpeachable source, saying that Padilla was so enamored with Curtis-Smith that he wanted to break up with Bernardo during that time.
Padilla was said to have expressed his change of heart to his mom Karla Estrada, who instantly objected to her son’s plan. Estrada supposedly explained to Padilla that he would lose a lot as most of their endorsements had them as a couple. Those millions in endorsements would be gone if they broke up.
Padilla, in a controversial 2014 audio recording, could be heard expressing his giddiness when Curtis-Smith texted him. The audio had Padilla talking about “Sam,” believed to be Sam Concepcion, Curtis-Smith’s boyfriend at that time. Padilla was man enough to admit it was him in the controversial audio recording and that he was sorry for his shenanigans.
On X (formerly Twitter), netizens have named the celebrities who were allegedly romantically linked to Padilla in one way or another: Liza Soberano, Julia Barretto, Gillian Vicencio, Kaye Abad, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Andrea Brillantes and a Vietnamese girl, the only non-celebrity in the list, who goes by the name Min Phuong o Emma.
Phuong, in a recent social media post, vehemently denied she was Padilla’s latest inamorata. She said she just said hi to the actor who was with her friends when they came to the bar owned by her brother in Vietnam.
Maris Racal shakes off new moniker
Not all celebrity titles are something to be proud of. Maris Racal, for instance, can’t be happy over her “Erna Queen of Primetime TV” title.
The less-than-amusing moniker emanated from one of Racal’s scenes in Can’t Buy Me Love where her character Irene Tiu stepped on an “erna,” colloquial term for poop. That was in her scene with Anthony Jennings’ Snoop character.
With that, Racal found herself bequeathed with a new title. But making light of the issue, Racal just quipped, “YUNG GOAL KO NA ASIA’S SONG BIRD WALA NA.”
Kim Chiu willing to love again
She might have gone through a recent heartache, but that does not deter Kim Chiu from loving again.
Chiu was asked during the mediacon for Linlang whether she was willing to give love a try again after her failed romance with Xian Lim.
“Oo naman. Hindi man sa ngayon muna. Pero, hopefully, in the next months to come — hindi, years to come (Yes, of course. But not now. Hopefully, in the next months – no, years to come),” she said.
“Kasi ang love naman, marami namang kayang magbigay ng love and willing naman akong tumanggap. Kasali sa buhay iyon so i-embrace natin lahat (It’s because there are so many who could give love, and I am willing to accept that love. It’s part of life, so let’s embrace it).”
Aside from featuring new and exciting scenes, Linlang: The Teleserye Version will delve deeper into the personalities of the various characters and will tell the full story behind the complicated relationships among Juliana, Victor and Alex (Chiu, Paulo Avelino and JM De Guzman).
Linlang premiered exclusively on Prime Video last October 2023 in over 240 countries and territories and was consistently the number one show on Prime Video Philippines. Throughout its online streaming, the series hooked audiences and spawned multiple viral posts on social media for its heated confrontation scenes and twisted storyline involving revenge and infidelity.
The story revolves around an alluring woman named Juliana and her illicit affair with Alex, a successful lawyer who also happens to be the brother of Juliana’s husband, Victor, a washed-up boxer.
Linlang also stars veteran actresses Maricel Soriano and Ruby Ruiz and fast-rising star Kaila Estrada. Completing the stellar cast are Jaime Fabregas, Raymond Bagatsing, Albie Casiño, Jake Ejercito, Heaven Peralejo, Adrian Lindayag, Race Matias, Benj Manalo, Lovely Abella, Frenchie Dy, Ross Pesigan, Hanna Lexie, Juno Advincula, Connie Virtucio, Lotlot Bustamante, Meann Espinosa, Danny Ramos, Bart Guingona, Marc Mcmahon, Anji Salvacion and Kice. The series is directed by FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin.
