Solaire’s barbecue extravaganza ignites taste buds

Nothing appeals more to Filipino palate than a juicy and flavorful meat marinated in rich seasoning and spices — and, of course, grilled to perfection.

Yes, here’s a food ever present at our dinner table whatever the occasion is — even if you’re just having a cold one with your friends or family, barbecue surely never fails.

Solaire Resorts and Casino recently held a culinary celebration centered on nothing but the smokey goodness of barbecue through a pool party aptly called “Flame the World,” which featured a variety of international barbecue dishes at the hotel’s pool bar and grill.

The experience became even more surreal with the pulsating rhythm of Latin pop dance music and rave beast, skillfully performed by an energetic band and a DJ who is well-versed in her music.

Event-goers were treated to especially crafted dishes from 11 countries spread across 13 stations.

At the entrance, guests were welcomed by the Southeast Asian section featuring Filipino classics such as sweet Pinoy barbecue, charred grilled liempo or pork belly, and indulgent lechon. Moving on, there were also Indonesian skewers with options for pork, lamb, beef or classic chicken satay served with a tangy peanut sauce, along with some delightful dishes from Malaysia and Singapore.

In the East Asian section, guests savored the enticing aroma of South Korea’s famous grilled meats, particularly the mouthwatering samgyeopsal gui. Other choices included enoki beef rolls, la galbi and various Korean side dishes. Additionally, Japan’s Kushiyaki sticks offered a diverse selection for those seeking a broader range of flavors

Opposite the pool area were European and Western barbecue sections showcasing an array of grilled German sausages and delectable beef steaks, each expertly cooked to a perfect medium-rare.

Of course, you couldn’t miss the all-American BBQ featuring bourbon-infused barbecue ribs and Texan-style pulled pork, exuding bold and rich flavors — perfectly paired with unlimited servings of pale ale beer.
