Boy bands from all over the world have indeed created a generation of avid fans and listeners. As the years go by, we see rising and trending boy bands who will sweep you off your feet with their undeniable talent, looks, charm and personality.
P-pop supergroup SB19 started the new year strong as it gets included in Young Hollywood’s “Ultimate Guide To The Hootest Boy Bands of All Time” list that was released on 11 January.
The list, which shows an A-Z guide of the biggest boy bands, also highlights major career achievements that have led to becoming some of the most prominent and popular boy bands in the music industry. It also includes the boy band’s years in the industry, its members and its most popular track.
“This Filipino boy band is regarded highly in contemporary Pinoy Pop,” Young Hollywood wrote. “They have been recognized as the first Southeast Asian group by Billboard and started internationally touring in 2023.
SB-19 has also donated a large amount to Autism Society Philippines.” SB19’s chart-topping hit single “Gento” was also mentioned as the group’s biggest hit.
The talented P-pop group has joined the likes of Boyz II Men, NSYNC, One Direction, Exo, BTS, Seventeen, Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer (5S0S) and more.
SB19 — which consists of Felip, Stell, Justin, Pablo and Josh Cullen — is the only Filipino act to be included in the list.
The P-pop group has lately been shining in group activities or solo endeavors.
For starters, Stell conquered the first season of The Voice Generations in 2023 when the group he mentored, Vocalmyx, won the competition. Justin, for his part, debuted as an actor in the popular youth-oriented series Senior High.
The newbie actor, who uses his full name Justin de Dios, was introduced in the show as mainstay Gela Atayde’s date in the 10 January episode. His appearance immediately became a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) as fans and viewers hyped this up.
The hashtag #JustinInSenior
HighEP98 and the phrase “ActorJustininPrimetimeDebut” were top trending topics on the platform at the time of the episode’s airing. De Dios himself took to social media, showing his sense of humor in his caption, “Naki Bazinga lang po tapos umuwi na, past bed time ko na po kasi #JustinInSeniorHighEP98.”
Meanwhile, SB19 gave a phenomenal performance at the Asia-Pacific Predator League on 13 January at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Despite Stell’s absence during the event, the four other members did not fail to charm music and e-sports fans at the event as they performed their viral hits, “Bazinga,” “CRIMZONE” and “Gento.”
The P-pop group also shared the stage with the Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo in a collaborative song “Ace Your World.”
“Thank you so much for supporting SB19, Felip, and Justin here at the Asia Pacific Predator League 2024! Ingat po kayo pauwi!” the group said.
