Sarah Lahbati to star in TV adaptation of ‘Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa’

Sarah Lahbati is coming back to the small screen. She is set to star in a television adaptation of the popular Rudy Fernandez film, Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.

The actress revealed the good news in an Instagram post on 9 December.

“Grateful,” Lahbati simply wrote in her post, adding a glimpse of the script and a selfie. The 30-year-old actress’ last TV appearance was in her husband Richard Gutierrez’s The Iron Heart in October 2023, in which she did a cameo role in the finale episode.

Shortly after her Instagram post, Viva Artists Agency shared photos that show a story conference of the upcoming TV adaptation. Lahbati is seen standing beside her co-stars Kiko Estrada and Sid Lucero.

Lahbati and Gutierrez currently figure in breakup rumors.

Lahbati, who rose to fame after winning the fifth season of the popular reality television show StarStruck in 2012, joined Gutierrez that same year in the television series Makapiling Kang Muli, where they became closer and developed a romantic relationship.

In 2013, she gave birth to her first son with Gutierrez at the age of 19. Then, she gave birth to their second child in 2018.

The couple tied the knot in 2020 in an intimate ceremony after their grand wedding was postponed due to the spread of Covid-19.

Three years later, the couple is now the subject of breakup rumors, which neither of them confirming nor denying the rumors.

Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa is a 1986 action film that also featured Fernando Poe Jr., Jackie Lou Blanco and Eddie Garcia. The film garnered three Film Academy of the Philippines awards and five FAMAS nominations.
