Red — the color of passion and love. These are also qualities the Red Charity Gala exhibits in its relentless support of various foundations. Always an anticipated fashion and charity event, the RCG finally made its comeback after three years — and what an epic comeback it was!
First, there was the fashion showcase. The gala would not be what it is without this aspect — and this year it featured the works of renowned Filipino couturier, Ivarluski Aseron. Revolving around the theme of “memory in motion,” Ivarluski artistically wove the story of his career into the pieces. Exquisite!
But even off the runway, there was no shortage of couture as the gala was well-supported by the Manila’s most illustrious — from designers, tastemakers and beyond.
As for the auction — well, let’s just say it brought out some healthy competition with the bidding war. It’s for a good cause, after all, so it’s okay to compete! A variety of artworks, intricate jewelry, luxury escapes and more revved up the crowd for sure.
As a cherry on top of a fabulous evening, the committee surpassed its goal by raising P7.5 million for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross and other foundations. Honestly, there’s no greater reason to celebrate than an accomplishment like this.
I’m so glad the RCG is back. Raising my glass to the gorgeous duo who made it happen, Tessa Prieto and Kaye Tinga. Brava, ladies! I look forward to the next gala. You can count me in to join always. Cheers, RCG!
