After the historic back-to-back win of Man Hot Star International RJ de Vera in 2023, Lloyd Edwardson Figueras is the second Misters of Filipinas king to compete abroad among the reigning misters from different countries. Figueras was given a rousing send-off on 22 February by the Misters of Filipinas Organization and Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation Inc. at MOF Coffee in San Juan City. MOF is the newest business venture of the Misters of Filipinas brand.
Figueras’ predecessor, De Vera, led the well-wishers at the send-off, along with Misters of Filipinas Fitness Supermodel World Godfrey Murillo and Misters of Filipinas 2nd runner-up James Harley Lajos. Also in attendance were PEPPs Foundation’s board of directors: Carlo Morris Galang (president), Aski Pascual (licensing and expansion director), Marianne Galang (multimedia director), Mervin Galang (logistics director), Alper Morales (corporate secretary), James Salire (treasurer) and Jhune Salud (creative director).
As the Philippines’ representative to the Mister Teenager Universe, Figueras is now competing in Indonesia for the pageant’s inaugural edition that will culminate this Saturday, 2 March, at the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton Ungasan Bali. His preparations included working on his physique, runway skills, communication skills and talent. He will be wearing formal wear by Ryan Chris and a national costume by Amor Albano.
“I’m training very hard, not only for the Misters of Filipinas brand but also for my family and the whole country. This is for you, the Philippines,” Figueras said at the send-off.
Mister Teenager Universe competition aims to promote the youth’s vital role in the national development of each participating country. The contestant will take part in different preliminary events, including one that showcases their international diplomacy, as well as a fashion parade, personality interview, cultural night and talent competition. There will be other activities to further explore the beauty of Bali.
Now the longest-running and leading male pageant in the Philippines for the last 11 years, Misters of Filipinas has produced a good number of international winners from its roster of kings who became the Philippines’ first winners in their respective international competitions.
