Nadine Lustre sizzles as first-time beer brand calendar girl

Nadine Lustre has finally agreed to pose for a calendar, and she doesn’t disappoint in the four layouts she did for the local beer brand Paraiso’s campaign for 2024. The award-winning actress, who’s also a total beach babe in her Instagram posts, sizzles in all four different bikinis against a paradise-like backdrop.

“They’re very collaborative,” she says of the people behind Paraiso’s first-ever calendar that was recently launched. “From the planning stage, they asked me na kung sino sa tingin ko ang (who I think is) okay na photographer, kung sino ang team na I prefer for this, and also the outfits.”

She then points out, “That’s really rare to find in a brand na gusto nila kung ano ang (which likes what is) preferred ng, I guess, no’ng (by their) endorser, or ’yung talent nila. I’m really grateful that they’re very trusting din. ’Yun ang pinakanagustuhan ko (That’s what I liked best).”

Lustre, who’s a complete head-turner in a sexy yet classy number reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez’s iconic Versace dress, goes on sharing at the event on how she and the team worked hard on the project: “The clothes are a bit tedious. As you can see, ano lang siya (it’s just), beadwork talaga siya, which is very intricate. Also I guess figuring out all the hairstyle, accessories, the makeup.

Siyempre (Of course) we want the calendar to be perfect. Since this is my first calendar ever, so we want everything to be perfect. So, it’s really the preparations that we had hard a time with…Mahirap talaga ang (It’s really difficult doing the) preparations.”

The first-time calendar girl matches well with Paraiso’s ideals, according to its brand assistant Joshua delos Santos. “When we reached out to Nadine, she easily said yes. Hindi namin s’ya kinonvince or kinulit. (We didn’t really convince or repeatedly ask her.) Aligned lang talaga ang goals namin (Our goals are really aligned),” he tells DAILY TRIBUNE in an interview at the event.

Craft beer style

Delos Santos makes it clear, though, that choosing Lustre, a millennial, doesn’t mean Paraiso only targets her age group. “It’s for everybody, as long as they’re 18 years old, the legal age of drinking. Basta (As long as) they love to enjoy beer and if they are ready to unleash themselves and to try new different things.”

He also clarifies that Paraiso is a “craft beer style,” meaning it only adopts the general idea of a beer made in a traditional or non-mechanized by a small brewery. “In quotation marks natin ang style. While craft beer is made by small batches with premium ingredients, Paraiso craft beer style is made with more batches siya, but made with high quality ingredients and at the same time at an affordable price.”

He adds that since Paraiso was originally launched in 2022, its two variants Lakas and Bighani have already emerged as the top choices in a survey made by the OCTA research firm. Aside from alcohol content (Lakas with 6.9 percent and Bighani, 5 percent), he points out the two variants also differ in taste. The former is a full-bodied lager with a burst of orange flavor, while the latter has a milder taste.

For her part, Lustre says during the event’s program proper that she prefers the Bighani variant. “Kasi (Because) it’s super light lang. Yeah, it’s nice to drink it when you guys hang out with your friends. Social drinking lang (only). I haven’t seen my friends for a while, so ‘pag nagkikita-kita (we meet up) and we all have work tomorrow, that’s the best time to drink for the night.”
