My favorite wellness finds

Everyone has a list of their favorite things. When it comes to wellness, let me share with you mine.

This is what you have long been asking for. Since wellness is dynamic, this list is fluid. As I journey on towards the path of well-being, the list evolves with time and experience.

Fighting the flu. Once you feel under the weather, don’t press on. Simply stop what you are doing and rest. This, plus hydration and a 100-percent all-natural tonic from Anima Mundi (USA) called Colds and Flu. It is a unique blend of turmeric, garlic, ginger, echinacea (powerful anti-viral, anti-parasitic). And yes, the relief is almost instant. Great for the whole family including children. Good news. This synergistic cocktail is now available in the Philippines at Tuere Collective IG @tuerecollective or go to tuerecollective.com.

No to Monday blues. Of course, we go through some period of gloominess. This is because our moods change and are influenced by circumstance or unavoidable situations. Take heart. This is something that can give you as natural a lift as possible. It’s called — appropriately enough — Happiness by Anima Mundi. Contact Tuere Collective and inquire about their holiday gift guide.

The proprietary blend is composed of Ashwaganda and Rhodiola to name a few potent herbs. The tonic can be mixed with juice or salad dressings.

Energetic mornings. How about harnessing the power of acai berries, considered as the only berry (from the Amazon forest) that has the highest potential to combat free radicals in the body.

Organique acai, the health drink, is a delicious morning habit for me. After taking two glasses of warm water with fresh lemon juice, I literally start my day with this acai drink regimen. The taste is unique, something like a combination of berries and apples with a hint of prune. Others call it fondly as their berry choco drink (even if there is no cacao in it).

The results: Energy and a more efficient metabolism. Low in sugar and safe for diabetics. In truth, this is a dieter’s first choice. Call 0995-2949124.

Sore throat remedy. As soon as your throat feels scratchy, dry or itchy, you must stop it immediately. Increase your water intake. Sip a cup of fresh ginger tea (no sugar). Then, alternate with a warm water- sea salt throat gargle. During the day, try Throzz, a lozenge made with Myrrh oil (with natural analgesic effect) peppermint and blackcurrant. It has a cool and calming effect on the throat. Available at Landers and Lazada.

Juice of the Day: Cory’s Blend

Wash, peel and chop the following: carrots, singkamas, green apple, ampalaya (You may alternate with sayote, kale, romaine lettuce and cucumber). Other days, try pure celery for a total detox drink.

Place in juicer, preferably Hurom. This is because the unique, slow motion, low-heat dynamics of this machine does not compromise the enzyme power of the vegetables and fruits. Remember, heat kills the live enzymes in vegetables and fruits. Go to www.hurom.com. They have an ongoing gift of health offer on their website.
