Lala Sotto seems to be on the hot seat again after the alleged “lubid” comment of “E.A.T.” host Joey de Leon last Saturday, 23 September 2023 during the show’s Gimme 5 segment.
The contestant was asked to provide 5 things that can be worn on the neck.
The only thing that he provided was a necklace until he ran out of time.
Vic Sotto then suggested that he could have also said sash, medal, scarf, and garland.
“Lubid, lubid. Nakakalimutan ‘yon”, De Leon added then laughed after.
Viewers were quick to react to the incident as they believed that it might trigger those who deal with depression and have suicidal thoughts.
The MTRCB on Monday, 25 September 2023, released their official statement regarding the matter.
“Taking cognizance of the complaints from the viewing public in relation to E.A.T. Gimme 5 segment aired last 23 September 2023, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) shall determine if the same are valid and presumably violative of Presidential Decree No. 1986 and/or its Implementing Rules and Regulations.”
It can be recalled that MTRCB issued a two-week suspension to the airing of “E.A.T.’s” rival noontime show “It’s Showtime” last July due to the referred indecent romantic act of its hosts Ion Perez and Vice Ganda during the 25th July segment of Isip Bata.
The agency gave an assurance that they will make sure to allot time and review the complaint presented against comedian-host Joey De Leon.
MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto has not yet aired her (personal) take on the issue.
