Ramona Diaz’s documentary about the presidential campaign of Leni Robredo called “And So it Begins” has been chosen to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2024. Sundance is the largest independent film festival in the United States and the most well-known, founded by the Sundance Institute, whose most prominent trustee is Robert Redford.
Diaz is a Filipino-American filmmaker whose previous works have won an Emmy and a Peabody, and have screened at Sundance, the Berlinale, Tribeca, and the Viennale among others. Filipinos have known her work mostly through “IMELDA” and “A Thousand Cuts”.
The Sundance Film Festival will be held from January 18–28, 2024 in Utah.
