Lee Do-hyun, Kim Go-eun’s ‘Exhuma’ coming to PhL cinemas in March

The South Korean mystery-thriller film, Exhuma, is coming to Philippine cinemas next month.

The mystery-thriller film, written and directed by acclaimed director Jang Jae-hyun, follows the exhumation of a grave led by two talented shamans, Hwa Rim (Kim Go-eun) and Bong-gil (Lee Do-hyun), to protect a wealthy family’s baby.

The two shamans sought the help of a geomancer named Sang-deok (Choi Min-sik) and an undertaker named Yeong-geun (Yoo
Hae-jin). The exhumation, however, consequently unleashes a wicked spirit underneath. 

The film was led by multi-award-winning actor Choi Min-Sik, who starred in I Saw the Devil (2010), New World (2013), and The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014), which became the most-watched and highest-grossing film of all time in South Korea. 

Kim Go-eun and Lee Do-hyun are international household names for their unforgettable roles in Korean drama series. Kim starred in hit series like Goblin (2016), The King Eternal Monarch (2020), Yumi’s Cells (2021) and Little Women (2022).

Meanwhile, Lee, who has been performing his mandatory military service since August 2023, starred in Hotel del Luna (2019), 18 Again (2020), The Glory (2022), and The Good Bad Mother (2023).

Finally, Yoo Hae-jin starred in several blockbuster films in South Korea, including Confidential Assignment (2017), A Taxi Driver (2017), and more. 

Exhuma will have its world premiere at the 74th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival on 16 February, A week later, the film will be screened in South Korean cinemas on 22 February. 

Meanwhile, Filipino fans can watch it in theaters on 20 March.
