For the nth time, Kris Aquino’s on-again, off-again relationship with Batangas politico Mark Leviste has gone kaput.
In a clarificatory statement on her Instagram page, Aquino belied reports that she is still in a relationship with Leviste.
Initially, she thanked Angeline Quinto for visiting her in the US with partner Nonrev Daquina and their son Sylvio.
Then came her declaration that she was no longer in a relationship with Leviste.
“May i clarify something i saw from the @inquirerdotnet feed? It was dated November 9, unfortunately by the time that post came out it was no longer true.
A long distance relationship is difficult when undergoing very physically demanding treatments like my methotrexate and my Dupixent. But i got my latest blood panel, apart from my very low hemoglobin, all my autoimmune markers are slowly improving.
The truth is that I chose to lessen the stressors in my life and put my wellbeing first… on November 3, 2023, I initiated our breakup. It was a well thought out decision based on choosing to do what’s best for me now. I’m dealing with so much and my love life isn’t a priority,” she said.
Aquino dropped hints that something is bothering her, but refused to give details.
“To protect my family’s privacy, please allow me to not give details about something that’s weighing heavily in our hearts (if you can pray for my sisters too, in the way you’re praying for me, sobra sobra ang pasasalamat ko)… Maraming salamat po, against all odds I am slowly getting better and by God’s grace my autoimmune thyroiditis has gone into remission. And also because my doctors caught it early enough, my 5th autoimmune, the mixed connective tissue disease which was strongly pointing towards RA (rheumatoid arthritis) or SLE (lupus) in my latest panel seem to not be a present threat,” she said.
If it’s any consolation, “from 5, i’m now just battling 3, BUT 1 of them is the main contrabida because it’s life threatening,” said Aquino of her auto-immune disorder.
Isabelle Daza hands P1M to house helper
Celebrity mom Isabelle Daza mounted a fundraising drive to help house helper Elvie Vergara, who was reportedly horrifically abused by her employer, and was able to raise P1 million.
In a recent Instagram post, Daza posted a short video of her handing the check to Vergara.
“Finally was able to give the money to Elvie Vergara herself. A total of ₱1,000,000 in a Manager’s check…To those who donated you have helped change a life and thank you for trusting me that I wouldn’t scam you lol,” she wrote in the caption.
Aegis’ most heartbreaking Christmas
This Christmas will feel different for rock icon Aegis as the members will be performing after the death of the father of the sibling lead singers.
Aegis: The Christmas Bonus Concert, is happening on 20 December, with Jose Mari Chan as the band’s special guest.
Sisters Juliet, Mercy and Ken Sunot became emotional talking about their late father, who died last August.
“Sa amin, malungkot sa aming magkapatid…Three months pa lang po kasi,” Juliet said.
Mercy revealed that their father was always present in their shows, so it’s only now that he would be with them in sprit.
The Aegis, whose members call themselves “latak” (leftovers) from 12 other bands, toiled long and hard to be where they are now.
They performed in different clubs in Japan to be able to raise money for their initial recording, and their first attempts were met with rejection.
“Nag-demo kami tapos meron kaming pinuntahan na recording company. Sabi nila, baduy daw kami, hindi raw bagay. Iyon ang sinabi nila. Hindi namin inintindi ‘yun. Basta kami, nagsikap kami” (We had a demo that we brought to a recording company. They told us we were cheap and cheesy. That’s what they told us. But we didn’t mind. We just kept going on), Juliet recalled.
Now, 25 years later, Aegis is still making waves in the music industry, rocking the world with their soaring vocals and very Pinoy ditties that have become part of Filipino life and music.
