Singer Karylle was conspicuously absent when couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes guested on It’s Showtime last weekend.
The couple was promoting their entry into the Metro Manila Film Festival, Rewind, thus the guesting.
Fans and televiewers were quick to notice Karylle’s absence in the show.
But that’s something predictable as Karylle and Dantes had a romantic past. They were a couple years back and their uncoupling happened when Dantes worked with Rivera in a GMA TV series.
Fans were somehow expecting Karylle’s absence in the show as it would put her, Rivera and Dantes in a very awkward situation.
“Mauunawaan nyo naman kung wala si K, hindi dahil sa naiilang sya sa mag-asawa, kundi dahil sa magiging hiyawan ng mga audience at medyo magiging awkward ‘yun sa mag-asawa at hindi ‘yun magiging kumportable habang nagpo-promote sila. Siguro ‘di na din pinayagan ng management para hindi maging awkward ang pag promote siguro nila. At kung sakaling andun si K baka mag-rewind ang lahat hehe (You’d understand why K was not present, not because she’d feel uncomfortable with the couple, but due to the loud cheers from the audience. It might be a bit awkward for the couple, and they won’t be comfortable while promoting. Perhaps the management didn’t allow it to prevent any awkwardness in their promotion. And if K was there, everything might rewind, hehe),” one fan said.
Daniel Padilla booed at Asia Artist Awards 2023
Jeers not cheers greeted Daniel Padilla as soon as he accepted the Fabulous Award at the recently concluded Asia Artist Award 2023, where former girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo was also one of the honorees — including South Korean artists NewJeans, Stray Kids and Lim Young Woong.
The hooting, jeering and shouting started as soon as Padilla accepted his award and began his thank you speech where he said: “Thank you, AAA. Everyone, maraming salamat sa inyo (Thank you very much), enjoy the night and good night.” Some fans even shouted “cheater” to the actor who seemingly took everything in stride.
It was all a different scenario when Bernardo took her award and gave a speech — the audience applauded her with glee.
“Hello guys, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat (Thanks to all of you). I hope you’re having a great time. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kathryn Bernardo and I am a Filipina actress,” she said.
“Wow, what an honor to be recognized tonight with these beautiful and talented people. Thank you so much AAA for this Fabulous Award. This is my first time attending this and nakaka-proud na bilang Pilipino, tayo ‘yung nagho-host ng ganitong event (It’s prideful that as a Filipino, we are hosting this kind of event),” she added.
“Also, I want to take this opportunity to thank everybody for supporting Filipino-made TV series and movies. Patapos na ‘yung taon (The year is coming to a close) but I feel so blessed and I am sharing this award to all of you. Maraming salamat and have a good night,” she further said.
Also, Padilla’s art card in the award’s night was marred with vandalism as bashers filled it with nasty messages as they feel the actor gave Bernardo heartaches amidst his cheating allegations.
Also, during the award’s night, Padilla’s art card was defaced with vandalism, as detractors inundated it with nasty messages, expressing their sentiments that the actor had caused heartaches for Bernardo amid cheating allegations.
Not a few defended the actor who felt that the vandalism was unwarranted.
“I’m not a fan, but as a Filipino and considering it’s an honor that AAA was held here, these comments reflect not the actor himself but the Filipinos in general. Our freedom to speak also comes with a sense of responsibility,” said one fan.
