Update: In a tweet on X, Robi Domingo has denied the reports that he has unfollowed Daniel Padilla and Andrea Brillantes. “This is so not true. Please check facts first. 😅🫰🏻,” Domingo tweeted.
The rumors involving Daniel Padilla and Andrea Brillantes refuse to die down, especially now that their celebrity friends appear to have taken sides by unfollowing the two on their Instagram accounts.
TV host Robi Domingo and actress Chie Filomeno unfollowed Padilla and Brillantes, while fellow actresses Loisa Andalio and Miles Ocampo unfollowed only Brillantes.
All of them are friends of Kathryn Bernardo, Padilla’s long-time GF with whom, also according to rumors, he has recently split up.
Director Cathy Garcia-Sampana, meanwhile, denied unfollowing Padilla. To begin with, she said, she was never a follower of Padilla on IG.
As if to address the raging issue, a message posted on X allegedly from Padilla has gone viral, where the actor told KathNiel fans to “relax” and “breathe” because “Ako na ang bahala sa lahat (I will take care of everything).”
“Mahal namin kayo sagad (We love you to death),” the message concluded.
But fans who know Padilla for the longest time doubt that the post came from the actor. “Fake news,” one commenter said.
The latest twist: According to veteran writer and host Cristy Fermin on her online show, another party — Brillantes’ ex Ricci Rivero — knew about the alleged secret trysts of Brillantes and Padilla.
“At ito na nga, alam na alam daw ng kampo nitong si Ricci Rivero ‘yung lihim na pagkikita ni Daniel saka ni Blythe [Brillantes’ nickname],” declared Fermin.
The two main protagonists, however — Padilla and Bernardo — have yet to say a word on the swirling controversy.
Maricel Soriano admits shortcomings to sons
If there’s one thing Diamond Star Maricel Soriano said she is well aware of, that would be her shortcomings to her sons Marron and Sebastien.
“Saan ako nagkulang? Sa time,” she said in our interview with her.
“Kulang na kulang ako sa panahon para sa mga anak ko at inihingi ko iyon ng tawad sa kanila. Nag-date kaming tatlo para lang mag-sorry ako sa kanila. Sinabi ko sa kanila na sana you can still find it in your heart to forgive me. Sabi ng mga anak ko, ‘No, Mama. We understand you.’ Nanlambot na ako, hindi na ako makapagsalita (I sorely lacked time for my kids, and I asked forgiveness from them. We three went out on a date and I said sorry to them. But they told me, ‘No, Mama. We understand you.’ My heart melted and I couldn’t say anything else),” Soriano recalled during the mediacon for her latest movie In His Mother’s Eyes.
Soriano also shared that her deceased mom Linda had shown up in her dreams.
“Parang gustong sumayaw. Naloka ako. Sabi ko, ‘Mommy, hanggang diyan, bakla ka pa rin! (It’s like she wanted to dance. I was shocked. I said, ‘Mommy, even there you’re still so gay!’),” she said.
Although it’s been years since her mom passed away, Soriano feels she has not mourned long enough. “You just have to get used to it,” she said, while admitting it’s hard because “Nanay mo ‘yun, e (It’s your mom).”
If her mom is still alive today, Soriano said she would give her everything.
“Lahat ng gusto [niya] ibibigay ko, lahat, pati buhay ko. Ganoon ko ka-love ang Mommy ko (Everything she wants, I would give, including my life. That’s how much I love my Mom),” she said.
In His Mother’s Eyes, also starring Roderick Paulate and LA Santos, opens in cinemas 29 November.
