Actor, singer, host, top product endorser: This time, add director to Alden Richards’ name, as the actor himself has announced that he is directing, producing and starring in an upcoming film.

“When a dream turns into reality,” the 31-year-old actor mused in the caption to a photo he posted recently on Instagram showing him looking direk na direk — wearing headphones while looking at a TV monitor.

Richards has apparently done his homework. In a related video, he can be seen instructing the camerawoman how to capture a scene the way he wanted it.

Without giving much detail, the Five Break-ups and a Romance actor talked about his directorial debut project in a recent TV interview.

“May script na kami, may cast na kami (we have a script, we have a cast), and excited ako for this. This is happening this November, before Christmas,” he said.

Richards continues to soar as one the country’s biggest names in showbiz. He’s still basking in the glow of his recent blockbuster romantic drama Five Breakups and a Romance with Julia Montes, which has reportedly earned over P70 million.

He will also star in the upcoming film Family of Two (A Mother and Son’s Story) with Megastar Sharon Cuneta, an official entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival that’s expected to be a major cinematic event.

Apart from film projects, Richards is confirmed to topbill the historical-action drama Pulang Araw in 2024, which will feature a star-studded cast that includes Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco and more.
