Forward to a brighter future

Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation celebrated its 50th year anniversary last 5 December. To capture their impressive history, I was commissioned to produce their coffee table book, my 46th book in 25 years.

They have reason to celebrate as MIESCOR has established itself as a most admired company largely to its strategic and focused vision, which are aligned with its subsidiaries, business units and parent company, Meralco.

For the next years, MIESCOR’s impressive portfolio paves the way for a robust pipeline of services strengthened by its vision to become the country’s foremost EPC company and its credibility as an institution that promptly and efficiently delivers — from national projects, to commissioned works by private companies, to deals with international partners.

The MIESCOR game plan, says President Richard O. Ochava, is the foundation of the company’s success. “We do a monthly review of our corporate plans and guidelines in relation to our objectives to achieve our transformation roadmap as a fully capable and sustainable world- class company.”

Human resources are premium to the company. Ochava says, “To address the mounting need to have world-class engineers and workers, the MIESCOR Group has a cadetship program in place for fresh engineering graduates and constant training programs for upskilling employees.”

Meralco chairman Manny V. Pangilinan is a passionate champion of creating solutions to mitigate climate change and make power accessible to all communities. He lauds MIESCOR for being a staunch advocate of this global mission.

He says, “The MIESCOR Group is a story of success because the company continues to innovate with the future in sight, taking in the concern for global warming via renewable energy, solar energy and wind energy. To ensure the necessary infrastructure are well- built for these alternative sources, we shall continue to capitalize on our competencies, especially our engineering skills, teamwork, strong interpersonal relationships, leadership development and capital resources.”

The future is an exciting arena for the MIESCOR Group. Meralco COO Ronnie L. Aperocho shares, “As we move on to the next century, we are meeting the challenges head on. We shall continue to be globally competitive, aggressively developing a world- class work force of engineers and giving value to our clients’ projects as we continue to forge strong partnerships.”

MIESCOR chairman Ferdinand O. Geluz agrees and elaborates on this vision, “I see MIESCOR’s role as not just a player in the industry, but as an enabler of nation-building. Our vision extends beyond corporate success; it embraces service to the Filipino people and shaping the nation positioned for global excellence.”

The milestone legacy book titled I AM MIESCOR is a testament of the human spirit as it honors all the men and women who have passed through its portals as it highlights their sense of purpose, integrity of their intentions, accountability of their actions and the I AM MIESCOR factors — their strong work ethics and dedication to excellent performance and timely delivery of projects.

Indeed, the future is bright for the MIESCOR Group, a brilliance that shines through as they continue to touch the lives of all the Filipinos with the energy they provide — and they have a remarkable 50 years to prove it!
