For that extra nudge to get you started on your fitness journey, here are some words of encouragement from Coach Iggy and actors Adrian Alandy and Max Collins. Alandy and Collins, who are both fit and fab, graced the opening of Kinetix Lab’s One Ayala Mall branch and had a quick chat with DAILY TRIBUNE.

Coach Iggy on encouraging his clients to reach their fitness resolution:

“I tell them to write it down. When you start your day one, make sure you continue. On day two, make sure to show up and be committed to your resolution. Say, you wanna lose weight and build muscle or for whatever reason you’re stepping foot in the gym, consistency and dedication to your goals will lead you there. Take one step at a time.”

Adrian Alandy on how to be fitter:

“Start doing exercises regularly, kahit na (even to) start with walking, lifting some weights. Then do the progression gradually. Hindi ’yung bibiglain mo ang katawan mo (Not by overwhelming your body) with heavy weights. This is to prevent injuries. So, gradual lang (only).”

Max Collins on how her healthy lifestyle can inspire more people:

“One thing I started doing is not eating sugar. I kinda cut sugar out of my diet. I sometimes cheat once in a while. I really notice a big difference when I stopped eating sugar. I feel better. I feel more energetic, less fatigue, and I don’t crash.

“Another tip and resolution of mine is not drinking alcohol. I only have a drink once in a blue moon. But as much as possible, I really stay away from alcohol. Another thing I’ve been doing regularly is using the sauna. The sauna has become a daily habit for me, and I noticed big changes in my body, like all the toxins are released. I feel so much, like clearing my mind when I started using sauna every day.

“What motivates me to be healthy? Well, I’m getting older, so I really have to take care of my health. You know, at the end of the day, health is wealth. Ayaw nating magkasakit. (We don’t want to get sick.) So, it’s really my number one priority. That’s my mission. I exercise every day, try to get enough sleep and drink enough water.”
