Minerva Tanseco hosted a delightful luncheon in her tastefully adorned Ritz condo showcasing an impressive array of art objects and paintings. The event celebrated Luz Cullen’s 92nd birthday, drawing attendance from esteemed past Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines presidents, including Nelly Bengzon, Chloe Periquet, Rose Lazaro, Cristina Caedo, Tessie Rodrigo and Letty Hahn. This gathering transformed into a heartwarming reunion for Luz, who had been absent from social circles.
Among the attendees were Beng Fores, Angela Sison, Roselle del Rosario-Rebano, Minda Javier Pama, Alice Roxas Briones, Celina S. Bautista, Rose Zamora, Juanita Yap, Naty Pappas, Primitiva Perez-Sison, Tessie Briones, Baby De Jesus, Baby Antonio, Fem Cosme-Lonzaga, Frieda Hizon, Maurice Lim, Mars Lambino and myself.
Minerva impressed her guests once again with several appetizers including a lechon, a sumptuous lunch buffet and a dessert spread featuring her famous fruit salads, fresh mangoes, watermelon, lanzones, cakes and pastries. After a hearty lunch, a dance instructor led everyone in a lively line dance to shake off the extra pounds gained.
Despite the effort, the indulgent merienda that followed ensured those lost pounds found their way back. Minerva, in her wisdom, highlighted the importance of creating get togethers to enjoy each other’s company through lunches and out-of-town trips, as one never knows when someone may depart.
A sincere thank you to Minerva for orchestrating such a joyful gathering, making Luz’s 92nd birthday a memorable celebration filled with laughter, good food and cherished friendships.
