In hopes of creating a positive impact on communities and the environment, SM Supermalls mounted the first-ever Sustainable Fashion Runways, SM’s sustainability campaign, last 29 April at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premiere, Bonifacio Global City in time for Earth Month.
The runway show featured looks from Heleyna Bridal by Janina Camille Saspa, Lost Lorelei by Lorelei Bookluck and Maison Ramiro by Ron Ramiro.
Janina Camille Saspa, the style visionary behind wedding atelier Heleyna Bridal, is known for dreamy, ethereal wedding gowns and bridal entourage dresses with embroidered phrases — sometimes wedding vows of her couples or even romantic lyrics from songs that are meaningful to her couple clientele.
Lorelei Bookluck is the creative force behind global eco-friendly resort wear Lost Lorelei. The Australian-Filipina style visionary is known for her edgy yet laidback designs created for a globetrotter’s lifestyle. She studied eco-friendly business practices in fashion for five years to ensure integrity in maintaining sustainability from fabric sourcing to the production process.
Ron Ramiro is a shoe designer and avant garde couturier who has been celebrated by the Manila fashion glitterati for his fierce, sky-high shoe platforms, edgy eveningwear and quirky bridal creations.
Eco-friendly building
Apart from the fashion show, SM hopes to spotlight SM Aura Sky Park as an establishment built using eco-friendly materials.
In fact, it was the runway show’s original venue but management decided to move it to Samsung Hall due to inclement weather.
Style Visionary Runways Manila
The sustainability campaign also introduced Style Visionary Runways Manila, the stand-alone fashion show brand of StylishTV and Stylish Magazine.
Its premiere segment will be the behind-the-scenes of Sustainable Fashion Runways.
Style Visionary Runways Manila is poised to showcase astounding collections by exquisite fashion designers in the Philippines.
