City of Dreams Manila’s restaurant specializing in Cantonese and Chinese regional specialties entices couples to explore the date-worthy set menu for two priced at P4,500++ per person available on 13 and 14 February for lunch and dinner. The appetizer is a trio of foie gras with supreme soy on crispy bean curd skin, five-spice pork belly with radish pickles, and deep-fried sea scallop in mango pomelo salsa. These are followed by Braised Sea Treasures in Golden Sour Soup, crispy five-spice marinated pigeon with spiced salt and Worcestershire, and crispy egg noodle with king tiger prawn in rich aromatic prawn broth. The Slow-poached Chinese pear with snow fungus in umeshu sweet soup and whisky chocolate brownie snow skin comes as a fitting dessert.
To add romance to the meal, a complimentary glass of France Chateau d’ Esclans Rosé sets the mood.
At Nobu Manila
Experience a hip and celebrity-inspired Valentine’s date at Nobu Manila, which offers a five-course tasting menu dinner exclusively offered on 14 February. Available for P6,000 net per person, the menu comes with a complimentary welcome drink and chef’s selection of zensai and starts with a trio of Nobu Canape Selection consisting of oyster tomato gelee, shima-aji (striped jack) with aji amarillo, and black cod butter lettuce. Nobu’s seasonal assortment of sushi follows just before the Hokkaido Scallop and Lobster duo that comes with chawanmushi with caviar, Inaniwa noodles and yuzu truffle dressing. The braised wagyu beef short ribs provides a delightful highlight to the meal before the dessert of vanilla plum wine rose with raspberry plum wine sauce and fresh berries.
At Haliya
The integrated resort’s modern Filipino restaurant Haliya allures couples with a four-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu priced at P9,000 for two persons. To warm up the palate, the menu starts with Prawn and Crab, a medley of prawn cocktail, snow crab, pickled watermelon, avocado cream, pomelo caviar, baby radish, red amaranth, beetroot powder and cucumber consommé. The Mushroom Krema, a heartwarming symphony of smoked chicken ragout, truffle ricotta, micro cress, pomme souffléé, button mushroom carpaccio, and malunggay snow, follows. For the third course, Haliya serves beef tenderloin, a mouthwatering mélange of sous vide black Angus beef tenderloin, caramelized saba banana, potato and chickpea puree, baby carrots, white onion emulsion, green oil, and red wine jus. For dessert, the Chocolate Sphere, a decadent chocolate mousse with red velvet cube, passion fruit granita, cotton candy, fresh berries and chocolate heart, is a sweet conclusion to a celebration.
Haliya adds charm to the dinner with a complimentary mocktail for the couple, who can have their choice from Ginoo (coconut cream, espresso shot, ube jam and condensed milk topped with whipped cream, coffee grounds and brandy snap), Binibini (strawberry puree, apple juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, finished with orange peel and fresh strawberry) and Iniirog (soda, lemon juice, agave syrup, apple and cranberry juice and blueberries garnished with dehydrated lemon and mint sprig).
At Café Society
Café Society impresses with a sophisticated and ample array of handcrafted Valentine’s chocolates, pastries, cakes and confectioneries for gift-giving. The choices include a Valentine Heart Cake, Trio Chocolate Mousse Feuilletine Cake and Valentine Flower Croissant, among others. These confections can be paired with a bouquet of flowers, which the café also offers, starting at P1,000. Café Society’s Valentine’s promotion runs from 11 to 14 February.
