City of Dreams Manila shines in the regional and international scene as it bagged three accolades that recognize the resort’s sustainability program and five-star hospitality and gaming service. The resort’s three Forbes-rated hotels Nüwa Manila, Nobu Hotel and Hyatt Regency Manila were each presented with the Asean Green Hotel Award at the PH-Asean Tourism Standards Awarding Ceremony held in late November.

A week later, the integrated resort was honored as the World’s Leading Fully Integrated Resort, and World’s Leading Casino Resort at the 2023 World Travel Awards held in Dubai.

City of Dreams Manila property president Geoff Andres: “Our 2030 goal to be a carbon neutral and zero waste resort exemplifies our company, Melco Resorts and Entertainment’s dictum that a sustainable future is a better future. We are also proud of the two distinctive 2023 World Travel Awards, recognizing our professionalism in gaming as an integrated resort.”

The PH-Asean Tourism Standards Awarding Ceremony puts into spotlight outstanding industry stakeholders and local government units for compliance with Asean standards on the categories of sustainability and inclusivity.

Under the auspices of the region’s national tourism organizations, the Asean Green Hotel Award recognizes hotel industry players whose operations are based on the achievement of sustainable tourism through environment-friendly principles, resource consumption reduction and local community involvement.

The initiative reflects the DoT’s enduring commitment to be globally competitive and as part of its National Tourism Development Plan from 2023 to 2028.

Nüwa Manila, Nobu Hotel and Hyatt Regency Manila, all situated in City of Dreams Manila, are recognized for their various environmental and CSR projects geared towards contributing to a more sustainable future and the upliftment of communities they serve.

Their collective numerous green initiatives are focused among others, on plastic waste reduction with the replacement of single-use plastics across the property and installing onsite a water filtration and bottling system to divert waste away from landfills; building a sustainable supply chain through local and sustainable sourcing, the colleagues’ continuing CSR volunteerism initiatives, and other health and education programs, to name some. City of Dreams is also the first luxury integrated resort in the country to install solar panels.
