Actress Barbie Forteza finally speaks up on her reel and real-life relationship status.
During the recent media conference for Maging Sino Ka Man on 31 August, Forteza couldn’t contain her excitement about the show’s premiere.
“I’m just really excited dahil ang ganda po ng kinalabasan nang lahat ng ginawa namin, ‘yung pinaghirapan namin… Sobrang ganda ng outcome, so sobrang overwhelmed po siguro and sobrang excited na finally, maipapalabas na ang TV version ng Maging Sino Ka Man,” Barbie said.
Barbie did not forget to acknowledge and thank fans for always being supportive even after the historical drama series Maria Clara at Ibarra ended.
The Kapuso Primetime Princess also thanked the Pambansang Ginoo for the love team’s skyrocketing success, noting that David Licauco has always been hardworking and dedicated to making their partnership work because they also became good friends along the way.
Then, Barbie set the record straight about her on-screen love team, David.
“So, I guess, David will agree with me, ‘yung personal lives namin outside this partnership, outside this love team, are
off-limits,” Barbie said, stressing the importance of personal boundaries between her and her fans.
“We have to set our personal boundaries because at the end of the day, tao po kami,” Forteza explained, adding that the industry’s nature made it difficult for actors to establish real-life friendships and have their personal lives away from the cameras and fans.
Barbie also admitted that she grew tired of answering questions regarding her real-life boyfriend Jak Roberto’s “jealousy” issue because of their love team’s closeness
on-and-off screen.
“Ever since nag-pick ang BarDa, sumikat ang BarDa. It has always been a question kung nagseselos ba? Hindi nga! So, can we stop?” Barbie said.
“Napapagod na ako sumagot…. Parang laging yun ‘yung tanong and wala nga at all,” she added.
The 26-year-old actress stressed that Jak has been a supportive and reassuring boyfriend, and they both know the professional aspect of their work as actors.
“Siguro ‘yung assurance na tinatanong niya sa akin sa set is, kung nakakain na ba ako, kung hindi ba ako natutuyuan ng pawis. ‘Yung ganon. Mas ‘yung care,” Forteza said. “‘Yung selos, wala talaga, Diyos ko! Parehas kaming aktor, alam na namin ‘yan.”
Barbie and David’s chemistry became a hit among mainstream viewers after the massive success of Maria Clara at Ibarra. This time, the loveteam will show a new side to their characters and showcase their irresistible charm and chemistry to fans and viewers alike in the remake of the popular 1991 movie Maging Sino Ka Man.
Directed by Enzo Williams, the highly anticipated television series will capture a new generation of fans while also bringing a sense of nostalgia, effortless humor and kilig among the older generation.
Maging Sino Ka Man will premiere on the small screen on 11 September.
