On 2 March, Apl.de.Ap released a teaser for their upcoming single, titled “2 Proud,” on his Instagram account, saying that the song will be released on 8 March.

Directed by Ben Mor, the teaser showed a glimpse of the song’s upcoming music video in which the two artists are clad in summer outfits while playing a game of croquet.

This is not the first time a collaboration between the two artists happened. In 2013, Filipino-American rapper and record producer, along with his fellow Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.am, released the song “Gettin’ Dumb,” which featured both 2NE1 and Apl.de.Ap. This time around, it’s just him and the Pinoy-at-heart South Korean singer-actress.

Apl.de.Ap, whose real name is Allan Pineda Lindo, shot to fame along with the Grammy-winning hip-hop group with their worldwide hits “I Gotta Feeling,” “Where is the Love?” and “Boom Boom Pow,” to name a few.

Beyond his work in the music industry, the 49-year-old artist is also a philanthropist who has been committed to supporting the youth through better access to education, arts and innovation.

Park, on the other hand, got her start in show business by placing second in the reality talent competition Star Circle Quest. She went on gaining worldwide recognition as a member of the multi-awarded South Korean girl group 2NE1.

In 2021, Park released a self-titled EP in South Korea, which included the songs “FESTIVAL,” “DARA DARA” and “HAPPY ENDING.”

The 39-year-old K-pop star, who is currently attending the Paris Fashion Week 2024, has recently become the newest endorser of a popular local beer brand in the country. The ad campaign features Park with Batang Quiapo actor-director Coco Martin, Can’t Buy Me Love actress Maris Racal and rapper Shanti Dope.
