BTS’ Jungkook once again made history when his latest title track, “Standing Next to You,” climbed to the number one position on Spotify’s daily Global Top Songs chart, marking the third solo song by the artist to secure the spot.
Jungkook has now become the first K-pop artist in history to have three songs reach the pinnacle of Spotify’s global chart.
In doing so, according to Soompi, he has outshined not only his own globally celebrated group, BTS, but also BLACKPINK, both of whom have had two number-one songs each. That makes Jungkook the K-pop artist with the most number-one songs to date on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart.
Jungkook’s dominance on Spotify doesn’t end there. He continues to extend his own record as the K-pop artist with the most days at number one on Spotify’s global chart, now boasting a remarkable total of 73 days at the summit across all his solo tracks.
His previous chart-topping hits this year include “Seven” featuring Latto and “3D” featuring Jack Harlow.
Simultaneously, Jungkook’s official solo debut single, “Seven,” has achieved an astonishing feat by becoming the fastest song in Spotify’s history to surpass 1 billion streams, shattering the previous record set by Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers.”
