Nancy McDonie, a former member of the Korean girl group Momoland, has joined Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
The Kapuso network’s talent agency hard launched McDonie’s signing in an Instagram post, dated 1 April, adding that the performer is a great addition to the agency’s vast pool of talents.
“Get ready to witness her journey as she shines among the brightest stars in the industry! Welcome to Sparkle, Nancy,” the caption reads.
McDonie is the second Korean singer to join the GMA’s talent agency after Chanty of the K-Pop group Lapillus joined in November 2022.
Two days prior, Sparkle GMA Artist Center teased the arrival of its latest talent by using icons representing the flags of South Korea and the Philippines in its Instagram caption.
“Sparkle is about to get a whole light brighter with this K-pop idol joining its roster of powerhouse and diverse talents,” the agency stated.
McDonie is a Korean-American singer who shot to fame with Momoland, the girl group behind the hits “Bboom Bboom” and “BAAM.” The group disbanded in February 2023.
In November that same year, she visited the Philippines for a one-night concert with Lee Seung-gi in Bonifacio Global City for the anniversary celebration of a Korean chicken restaurant.
Sparkle GMA Artist Center didn’t give details on McDonie’s upcoming projects.
In 2019, ABS-CBN announced that McDonie would be paired with James Reid for the series The Soulmate Project. A year later, Reid announced through an online service session that the planned series would no longer push through.
