The month of October, it seems, is not a lucky one for host and content creator Alex Gonzaga. In a span of two years, she has suffered two miscarriages, the first in 2021 and the last just last month.
Gonzaga detailed her sad experience in a recent interview on Toni Talks, her sister Toni Gonzaga’s online show, revealing that she and husband Mikee Morada went through the IVF (in-vitro fertilization) process and still it didn’t work.
“I was so pressured na. Pagkatapos sabi ko kay Mikee, ‘Mike, sorry.’ Sabi niya, ‘Bakit ka nagso-sorry? Ang dami pa nating embryo. Go lang (I was so pressured. I told Mikee, ‘Mike, sorry.’ He said, ‘Why are you saying sorry? We have many embryos. We’ll just go forward),” she recalled.
Gonzaga appreciated her husband’s support and lack of blame, which she said made her feel that he is a real partner.
“The night before, kinakausap ko si Lord (I talked to the Lord). Ginawa niya akong pregnant ulit for a reason, so pray ako nang pray (He made me pregnant again for a reason, so I was praying and praying). Pero habang naliligo ako, kinausap ako ni Lord na parang (While I was taking a bath, the Lord talked to me, like) ‘Why are you in a rush to be pregnant?’ Tapos naiyak ako, kasi nape-pressure ako sa mga tao (Then I cried, because I felt pressured by the public).”
To those in the same predicament, Gonzaga advised: “Huwag kayong magagalit kay Lord because may reason talaga (Don’t get mad at the Lord, because there’s really a reason for everything happening).”
Kim Chiu’s P105K ‘It’s Showtime’ dinner treat
It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu proved herself a generous soul when she treated her noontime show family to a dinner that cost her a whopping P105,000.
The ultra-expensive dinner at Seolhamyeok may have cost the Linlang star a small fortune, but it was all worth it, she said.
“As the saying goes, family is not defined only by its last names or by blood. It is defined by commitment and by love. It means showing up when [we’re] needed most. It means having each other’s back. It means choosing to love each other. Even on those days when you struggle to like each other. It means never giving up on each other,” she said in her YouTube video.
In the video, Vice Ganda was shown telling Chiu: “Kino-compute ko ’yung binayaran mo kasi ang laki-laki. Para sa isang dinner, gumastos ka ng isangdaang libo, para kang nagpa-debut! (I was computing your bill because it’s so big. For one dinner, you spent P100,000, it’s like you spent for your debut!).”
But Chiu’s reassuring response was, “Pagkain naman ‘yun. Okay na ‘yun (It’s food, so it’s okay).”
